I am tired

The baby is cutting his first tooth and fighting his first ear infection. I am getting no sleep!

I did manage over the weekend to snap some pics. Today, I was able to find time to edit them while holding a fussy baby.

I am resolute!

So another year has passed and a new one is blooming.

Boy, it’s been a bit since I have posted. What have I been up to? Well, we own our own business and between October thru December, life is chaos. Trying to juggle raising our crew, school scedules, therapies, appointments, then adding long lines of people waiting to ship their items to loved onces across the country adds a whole new aspect to life. I don’t think I have ever been so exhausted in my life. I went from working part time (2 days a week) to more than full time, then coming home making supper and checking homework and running baths and…and…and…the kids were off for 2 weeks for winter break.

During this time, my family lost a loved one. It was shocking and tragic. It has been very hard to overcome. It is hard to have closure but I do feel at peace knowing my dear uncle has no more pain. My sister and I did fly up to be with our family during that time. While the weather was absolutely FREEZING the warmth from family was a great comfort. I do miss them all dearly, especially my uncle who passed away, I miss him soooo terribly!

Yeah, uh, that is where I have been!

Amid the chaos, I have managed to get a bit of torching in! Managed to get a few sales from the co-op! Somehow managed to read a book or two. but never did get those Christmas cards out! Shhhhh….they still may come…ok, maybe I’ll just pack them away for next year! They were really great cards too! We had a nice mellow Christmas with wonderful food and pleasant company. 🙂 Life felt all warm and cozy!

In our crazy, adventerous days, hubby and I managed to get ourselves on track with healthy eating. And yes we made in through the holidays fairly unscathed! And with the new year starting we are kicking it up a notch and digging our heels in. Since we didn’t get much time to workout in December, we plan to take full advantage of its use now. We set “winter hours” at work so that we can have supper earlier and get up to the gym and still have time with the munchkins before dropping into bed only to start it all over again.

I am feeling good and down over 23 pounds now! I have already had to buy some new jeans and will need to do so very soon again because I can pull these ones up and down without unbuttoning them!!! *dances* I feel so good! Did I already say that? And you know what I find the neatest thing? We are eating wonderfully yummy meals! We are pinching pennies like everyone else (moreso with our large family) but by shopping the sales and eating before we head to the store has helped immensely.

So what if we are only 5 days into 2009? We had some good “practice” leading up to it and it’s only going to get better!!

2009 is going to be a life changing year. And I looking forward to embracing every minute of it!

Ans a few photos:

and finally a belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from my family to yours!

Exhausted

One may ask how I spend my days. And well, most would boggle at my answers. Today, boggled my mind.

Wanna hear??? tuff toodles, you get to anyways 😉

A bit of background before I start the day.
Our oldest turned 17 last week. We bought him ticket’s to a Phoenix Coyote’s NHL game. A “boy’s night out”; game is tonight. Hubby went, my BIL went and my sister’s boyfriend went along with said son. And another tidbit of info (you will understand where this fits in when you are reading) about 2 days ago my dryer quit, I even tried to take it apart to fix it, thought I had it but nope, it’s definately dead! Oh and on Thursday nights, our oldest dd babysits for a friends little boy.

now just a bit of my day (leaving out little “minor” things LOL ugh)

~wake up
~get kids ready for school

~mess around with dryer
~get call from todd to bring the pick up truck to home depot
~load 3 littles into truck
~pick up new dryer
~run home with the 3 youngest help unload dryer
~clean up good and get dryer installed (by myself cause hubby had to work our store)
~run jojo up to therapy
~get call from todd that i am needed at work asap
~grab lunch for me and 3 youngest
~pick up joey from therapy
~drop joey off at preschool (after he eats in the car on the way)
~run to work get some things done
~run home with about 5 minutes before bus comes
~get kids off bus
~inform kids that are home of my schedule of hurried events for the rest of the day
~had to run back to the store to help with one thing since todd was coming home early
~get a call at work from our therapist (who had jojo and auggie)
jojo cracked his head open at the park, she stopped the bleeding but she thought he needed to be seen
~call my sister while speeding home
~she comes and watches the kids and makes them supper and makes them do homework LOL since todd had already left and ashley was about to
~get home
~rush jojo to the er
~sit for 2.5 freaking hours while he is dripping blood and crying
~get him back to a room
~they get him cleaned up while he is screaming bloody murder (i have mentioned before that Josiah has autism and global developmental delays, he functinos on about a 2 year old level, yet he is a very large 5 year old)
~he gets 5 staples, no numbing stuff
~go home exhausted (and btw had baby with for ALL of this)
~sister helps me get jojo settled and then leaves

I didn’t eat until about 8:45 pm. After I made calls to Todd and our oldest dd. And our therapist called very worried about him.
jojo is out of it, he did get some motrin, he’s not throwing up but we are watching for signs of head trauma/concussion

the rest of the night is kinda a blur. the other kids are obviously upset. Auggie is freaked out. He doesn’t understand why they had to use staples. He was crying for Josiah, which is unusual for him. 😦 Broke my heart.

The boys are on their way back from Phoenix and I am snuggled into bed with my nice warm blankie and slowly drifting into slumberland.

Pics to come tomorrow. I got the saddest pic of Joey at the hospital, head all bandaged up. I sent it to my email and am just waiting for the thing to go from phone to computer! LOL technology, isn’t it grand???

Just Go Away Already!!

Man, it has been a really rough month! While having a large family does mean that when one kid gets sick, usually it will go through the whole house. But its going on a month now of one sickness after another after another!

Even our pediatrician commented that every time we have brought kids in, it has been for different illnesses. First Ben went down and was out for the count for almost a full week. Auggie and Sammy followed after but not quite as severe. Just when we thought we were out of the woods, Rachel came down with something different and just as the kids were getting really really sick of me telling them to go wash your hands, Sammy gets sick again…and Josiah too! Thankfully, the teens haven’t been sick at all and have been a great help. I am so exhausted from sleepless nights, congestion and breathing treatments and constant clingy babies. And thank goodness for delivered pizza. It wasn’t in the budget this week but it was a lifesaver and was a huge relief for me!!!

Last night I finally got some sleep! I went to bed early and slept so hard. I get so tired being pregnanct anyways that this sleep was so welcome!! Today it seems Sammy is starting to come around. We haven’t had to do a breathing treatment yet. Jojo sounds awful so I am sure we will head back in to get some meds for him early next week. But I am feeling half way human today and am hoping to get some fun stuff done, especially since this is the first time all week I have sat at the computer without holding a kid….or two!
