Just sayin’

I am so proud. I ran 9 minutes today out of the 35 I spent on the treadmill! And I feel great! I honestly think the Isagenix stuff that I drank (Want More Energy) really helped with that!

I went to the welding place and the awesome manager tested my propane regulator saving me at least $65! And I can torch again, hopefully this weekend. :D

I texted with my brother this morning, that always makes my day!

I got to have lunch ALONE with my hubby! I always feel so grown up when I get to do things like that.

And lastly, keep me in your thoughts and prayers while I go in for some medical stuff tomorrow.

It’s all science…

or at least it has been around here lately!

The 3 kids in upper elementary had their science fair today. Their projects were judged. It is optional for 3rd and 4th graders to do this and they may do it as a group or class or by themselves. 5th graders were requitred to do it. For them, it was a huge part of their grade for the quarter.

Ben’s project was a class project. Kate did her’s on her own and Megan did her’s on her own too!

The results are in!

Megan:

Two Words

Chicken Pox….

the baby has it too….though not nearly as bad as big sissy does. She is beyond miserable. Poor thing has them in her throat and mouth and nose and on her eyelids….my only consolation is this has got to be it. The rest have either had it or have been immunized. (though we thought Rachie had the shot too…)

So, um….yeah….been M.I.A. again. Besides I am out of propane and can’t torch until I actually remember to throw the darn tank into the back of the van and go exchange it.

Snow, Basketball and all that jazz…

Ok, so maybe I don’t have any jazz for you but I do have the others!

Yep, it does snow in my neck of the desert about once a year, twice if we are lucky. And this past time it stuck around until…are you ready for this????? NOON!!! LOL It is gorgeous. All the way to school the kids kept saying, “Aw, look at ________! It’s so pretty!” Fill that blank in with everything from the school, a car, a house, a mailbox, literally everything! But I didn’t stop them, because they were right. It was a stunning 5 minute drive.

From our house in Cottonwood:

The drive to work, took my breath away! I actually played a tourist and took pictures from the van.

For those of you who know the rock formations, Bell Rock is in this picture:

On to basketball. Yes, I know, compltetly out of context and has nothing to do with snow but it does have to do with my life so you are subjected to it as well! hehe

We pulled up to the elementary school last night for Ben’s basketball practice and a fire truck was there. Ben was a little concerned that something may have happened. But all was fine, except for the fact that they had to practice with the Cottonwood Fire Department! He was so excited and talked about it all night! Our coach is a fireman and his buddies came over to help the team out! How cool is that???

Can you find my kiddo in the bunch?

The chicken pox, pneumonia, broncialitis and ear infections are gone….though Noah is cutting another tooth, but I should be able to get updates done a bit more consistent with healthy kids and actual sleep!

I am tired

The baby is cutting his first tooth and fighting his first ear infection. I am getting no sleep!

I did manage over the weekend to snap some pics. Today, I was able to find time to edit them while holding a fussy baby.

Weird…

It’s a weird feeling knowing that my family is in frigid Northern MN grieving together while I am down here with my own family doing our daily activities. It’s an odd feeling, almost like guilt.

As they prepared food for the memorial, I was at my son’s basketball game (they won btw). While they were at the church paying their respects, we were at our store trying to salvage our computer (the harddrive :( ). While they cleaned up and drove home tearfully, I was making lasagna. While they dropped into bed from exhaustion, we were outside roasting marshmellows.

It’s just weird….and I am sorry I wasn’t there for them….

Remembering…

When someone chooses the wrong paths in life, then removes themselves from you and your family, how does one go about remembering the good?

My brother passed away yesterday. He had a rough go of things, made some big mistakes and some bad decisions and he was paying his dues when he time came. But right now I really don’t want to dwell on that. I want to remember the good stuff. Sadly, there is not much that I can remember so my simple little pieces will have to do.

I want to remember that big dopey grin he had. Gosh, he was a dork when wearing that grin, but that was him. It fit him!

Or how much he loved music. I can remember when he got Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” on cassette! Man, that tape got played a TON! Remember that Mom?

He loved riding his bike. I think he loved “fixing” them even more. LOL

He loved spending time with our cousins on my dad’s side of the family. They often brought up their 3-wheelers and took us mud bogging. He lived for those weekends.

Or how about when he came back from some time in Oklahoma and he had the thickest accent. LOL And it had only been maybe a year or so that he lived there.

He is gone. But with him went his demons, his cancer and his pain.

Goodbye, Mike! I hope you finally are at peace!
